GEB 5215 w/ Dr. Webster, a Great Class at UF

I wanted to take a few moments to discuss a class I recently finished taking in grad school at UF.  As a graduate business student, all are required to take “Professional Communication”.  I’ll be honest I was a bit skeptical at first, but what I got out of these few weeks of class will benefit me for the rest of my professional career.

What we learned is how to speak to a business audience, consisting primarily of high-level executives.  This is a situation that I will find myself in countless times for the duration of my career.  We were taught how to interpret our unintentional movements during speeches (swaying, meaningless arm motions, etc.).  I learned a whole lot in this class, and I intend to continue to practice as a public speaker.

Dr. Webster is a standout professor.  She does an outstanding job of engaging each student in her class regardless of their background.  I highly recommend her as a professor at the University of Florida.
